About us

Who ARE these people?

We’re a couple of buddies who live in Austin, Texas (the Live Music Capitol of the World!) and who absolutely LOVE these retro metal lawn chairs. We love them so much that we dedicated a site to sharing this Americana with the rest of America. These retro lawn chairs remind us of sentimental times long ago at the homes of our respective grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. Some of our favorite memories include:

- Sitting in these chairs and eating watermelon slices at family barbecues (and then hosing the seeds off of the chairs when we were finished).

- Crowding the chairs around a bonfire on a chilly night and telling ghost stories that scared us more than we wanted to admit (and the experience of smores, of course).

- Bouncing in one of the “rocker chairs” while a favorite uncle sang and played funny songs on the guitar that had us laughing until our bellies ached.

    Hey,
I just wanted to tell you that I have been looking for 8 months for a glider. It’s the goldfish story. My 7 year old saw her dad and I sitting in one…(I actually never noticed, but it was my favorite!) I thought I could hunt one down. In the 8 months…I have never seen prices so low…and such a great deal. There is one guy on CL in the Frederick area selling a glider for 400. and it looks like it just came out of the dump!!! Just trying to save the memories. Her dad died last year…it’s the only thing she asked about…
Hope to purchase one from you soon. A big fan.

Hi, Donita. Thanks for writing to us. Yes, the gliders (especially the double gliders) are very popular. We actually run out of them from time to time. Thanks again for writing!

      ~ Mark
